What voltage should be used to charge a 3.7V lithium battery

Usually 3.7V lithium battery need to have overcharge and overrelease of the “protection plate”, such as the battery without protection plate is only about 4.2V charging voltage, so the ideal full charging voltage of lithium battery is 4.2V, voltage more than 4.2V May damage the battery, with this method of charging at the same time need to always supervise the battery condition.

You can use 5V with a protection plate (4.8 to 5.2 is ok), a COMPUTER USB5v or a mobile phone 5V battery charger will work.

3.7V battery, charging cut-off voltage 4.2V, discharge cut-off voltage 3.0V. Therefore, when the battery has an open circuit voltage of less than 3.6V, it should be ready to charge. Best use 4.2V constant voltage charging mode, can not pay attention to the charging time. Charging with 5V is easy to overcharge and cause danger.

1.Floating charging. Refers to charging while working online. This method is usually used for backup power sources. Less than 12 volts can not charge, too high damage power circuit work. Therefore, when floating charge is operating, the voltage is 13.8 VOLTS.

2.Cycle charging. To fully charge the battery to restore its capacity, when fully charged, continuously turn on the battery charger to measure, usually around 14.5 VOLTS, maximum 14.9 volts. Disconnect the battery charger for 24 hours, usually around 13 to 13.5 volts. About 12.8 to 12.9 volts after a week. Different batteries have different voltage values.
