Suele ser una modificaci\u00f3n de la bater\u00eda est\u00e1ndar de plomo-\u00e1cido para autom\u00f3viles o embarcaciones. El gel se produce generalmente mediante la dispersi\u00f3n homog\u00e9nea de s\u00edlice pirog\u00e9nica en \u00e1cido sulf\u00farico diluido. La s\u00edlice pirog\u00e9nica es un tipo de polvo de SiO muy bien disperso, que absorbe m\u00e1s de diez veces su peso en \u00e1cido l\u00edquido para producir gel. Las bater\u00edas de gel son extremadamente robustas y vers\u00e1tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Se llama gel porque utilizan s\u00edlice (o arena) para convertir el \u00e1cido del interior de la bater\u00eda en un l\u00edquido espeso. Este l\u00edquido la hace a prueba de derrames, como nuestras bater\u00edas AGM, pero el gel es fr\u00e1gil y puede quemarse f\u00e1cilmente si se usa en situaciones de alto amperaje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-charge-a-gel-battery\">\u00bfC\u00f3mo cargar una bater\u00eda de gel?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Existen varios m\u00e9todos para cargar bater\u00edas de gel con un cargador; sin embargo, la carga a voltaje constante es la mejor opci\u00f3n. Para este tipo de carga, se utiliza una fuente de voltaje fijo y regulado.
